IT Support Engineer

(2nd / 3rd Line)


Location: Chester
Salary: Up to £34,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) + Annual Bonus
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

 

Join a well-established IT Support and Services provider in Chester, with 18 years of success and a positive work environment. This role offers room for growth, training, and the chance to build valuable experience in a fast-paced, rewarding setting.

 

Role Overview

As an IT Support Engineer (2nd / 3rd Line), you will provide essential support for a wide range of IT systems, including remote and on-site troubleshooting, customer support, and installations. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Providing technical support for clients, remotely and on-site
  • Building and installing software on servers, PCs, and laptops
  • Repair and maintenance of customer equipment, such as servers and PCs
  • Installing and maintaining network equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Conducting site surveys and equipment audits, along with supporting Microsoft 365 migrations

This role provides an opportunity to develop skills in various IT systems, with the potential for growth based on performance and experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support: Handle customer calls and troubleshoot technical issues
  • System Configuration: Set up and install servers, PCs, and laptops
  • Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair customer equipment
  • Network Setup: Install and maintain network hardware at client sites
  • Site Surveys and Audits: Evaluate and assess equipment on-site

 

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in an IT support role, ideally supporting multiple clients
  • Proven troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills
  • Onsite installation experience and knowledge of supporting Microsoft 365 products
  • Experience with Microsoft Server installation, preferably in 2nd or 3rd line support
  • Proximity to Chester (ideally within 25 miles) and a valid driver’s license
